My Health Stats

My goal: Health, longevity, staying fit and active. Here are my stats that I am constantly monitoring and/or trying to improve naturally.

Age: 47 years old
Height: 5’11.5″
Weight: 174lbs currently on a cut down from 180
BF: 19%
BMI: 24.4
Resting HR: 56bpm (average over one month)
BP: 117/75 (average over one month)
Cholesterol: 160 total
A1C: 5.3
Testosterone: 539 (last taken 2023)

Diet/Supplements: I take nothing other than a daily multivitamin. I try to eat clean/healthy. I try to eat things in moderation. I don’t limit any foods but try to choose healthy ones, like fruits, veggies, and low processed foods. Organic where I can. Attempt to avoid junk food but I’ve got kids so its in my house and I have it sometimes. I don’t focus on this stuff too much as it just causes stress and is impossible to follow long term. I try to use common sense and eat sensible. When I start gaining weight I reflect on what I’m eating that’s bad and reduce. I am not a fan of all of the strict diet stuff I see everywhere. I am not a fan of tons of supplements.

No smoking at all. I can’t even be around it as it bothers me a lot. Little to moderate alcohol as in I might have a few beers every now and then but Im not a big drinker at all, gives me terrible sleep.

I do add protein to smoothies 1-2x a day. I switch between orgain and On protein as thats usually what I find on sale and like to switch between whey and plant types.

I do not and have never taken any kind of lifting supplements or worse. I am not big on ingesting supplements into my body, I try to get what I need from food. I am at the point where I won’t even take prescribed meds unless I very truly need them.

I mostly eat the same foods every day…this makes it easy to gain/lose weight as I can add/cut. I will talk more about this in a post at some point.

As you can see from my tests I get my blood tested every year at my annual physical. I get a full blood panel but I only wanted to share some of the main ones. I did have my testosterone tested when I was in my mid 40s just to get a baseline but I was happy with the number. That is something I am seeing a lot guys my age start to take and I do want to talk about that in a post at some point because I’ve had the discussion with lots of friends about it. I personally won’t consider it at this point given my last number and I have no symptoms of it being low.

If you came here looking for my big 3 lift numbers…that’s not my goal here and I could care less. I’ve had to stop all of them due to numerous injuries. My bench is now a 2 board press due to AC and shoulder injuries. My deadlift is now RDL. My squat is now a belt squat due to lower back issues. My goal is being fit and longevity, not big lifting numbers. The only thing chasing big numbers did for me was cause injury.
